Pam’s Pick this week is: “The Bad Daughter” by Joy Fielding, exposes the deadly differences between the lies we want to believe and the truths we wish not to know. Library Notes for May 2, 2018

May is Get Caught Reading Month! Share the joy of getting lost in a good book with your children. It’s a gift that will last a lifetime! The best way to raise an avid reader is to be an avid reader. Next time your kids are reading for school or for pleasure, put down your phone and pick up a book. Talk to your kids about the books you read and make talking about books part of your go-to conversation topics.

Pam’s Pick this week is: “Cave of Bones” by Anne Hillerman, this book takes you deep in the heart of the Navajo Nation and once again explores the lore and rituals of Native culture. When Navajo teen Annie Rainsong goes missing on a camping trip aimed to help troubled girls get on track, tribal police officer Bernie Manuelito happens to be en route. Annie turns up unharmed, but there are mysteries to be solved. What scared Annie in the cave where she spent the night? And where is the man who tried to find her?

Library Notes for March 28, 2018

Easter will be this weekend on April 1^st. I was asked the other day “when was the last time Easter fell on April 1^st?” The last time was April 1, 1956 but the next time will be April 1, 2029. Happy Easter!

Movie Time: We will show “Ferdinand” on Good Friday, March 30^th at 2:00 in the basement of the library. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. And yes, it is FREE. The movie is based on the 1936 children’s book “The Story of Ferdinand” by Munro Leaf.

Pam’s Pick this week is: “As You Wish” by Jude Deveraux, this is the third book in the Summerhouse series. Three women end up at the Summerhouse for different reasons but soon they open up to each other about their regrets, wishes and dreams. Pam’s Pick this week is: “The Breakdown” by B.A. Paris, this is the story of Cass who is having a hard time remembering things since the night she saw a car on the side of the road in the woods, with a woman setting inside.
